Default RTI screen size

Hello,

New here, so bear with me.
Does anybody know the screen size on the RTI screen ?
It seems the largest portable ones only go to 4.8 inch ie 12cm.

I did a search but haven't been able to find it.
Thanks.

Default Sat nav screen size

Hi,

I don't have my XC90 with me today, so cannot measure the screen, but I am pretty certain that it is between 6 1/2'' to 7''. It is much bigger than any after-market sat nav I have ever come across, and I find it works pretty well. I wish it allowed the last two letters of the postcode to be input, but this has not been a big problem.

Hope this helps.

It sits much further away than the aftermarket satnavs so it needs to be bigger.

I'd like to see the speedo in that position like the Toyota Yaris, which has the most user friendly and safest display I've ever seen. No need to take your eyes off the road and change focus.

Thanks for the replies.
I was at the dealer's today and they said they couldn't show me the system because none of their new or used cars had the RTI system.
"nobody seems to order it "........

As far as I can see most of the TomToms etc have much more options at far lower cost but to me their disadvantages are the tiny screen size and the fact that you have lots of wires and cables hanging around the dashboard.

I have installed an RAC sat nav (5 inch screen) in the same position as the factory fit version, it slides up and down into the recess like the original, all the cables are hidden this way too.

I chose the RAC Sat Nav as it is the only one I could find that has an av in socket, I intend to install a reverse camera so will need this.

My TomTom goes for about 6 hours without a charge so for most journeys I dont' need to plug it in to the dash. The single wire isn't very obtrusive to me and it's not there very long as I don't spend much more than 6 hours per day driving very often. It charges up while it's on it's computer socket and I usually program it on the computer before I make a trip.

As I said the TomTom sits much closer than the Volvo built in unit so I don't have problem seeing it and you tend to just go on the voice intructions after you get used to it, as they seem to be so precisley timed, it's just amazing.

As you may guess I really like the TomTom, but I have never used the Volvo system properly just seen it in action when I've been test driving a car. I don't like the idea of having to take it to the main dealer for a very expensive update either having gotten use to the free TomTom updates.
