Hi Fatladz,

I still owe you a favour from a while back when you sent me a part I needed for my Turbo, so if you need advice feel free to give me a shout and maybe I can help answer any questions you may have.

All the best,
Edward.

cheers for that matey its nice of you to remember and to offer

Right i took my car over to "Little Hoole" in Preston to Hytek Autogas and had it thouroghly inspected and then checked for leaks and then was praised for my competentcy in fitting it the way i had (to be honest i got lots of advice from an lpg forum )
and Steve connected up the last few bits i were unsure of.
also while i was there he mapped it for me and also issued me with the certificate for the insurance and dvla.
After seeing how proffessional this guy is and how much work is involved in fitting a kit i kinda wish id just asked him to fit it and set it up.
If anyone on here is wanting a kit from him including the fitting ive got a £100 off voucher for them. (pm if you want it)
the 120 mile drive home was brilliant and i cant tell the difference between the petrol and the gas apart from the lpg has a bit more poke

just been to fill up in Doncaster today as my son was playing football there and was amazed to see that £13.80 filled it
not bad after a 120 mile drive and a load of hard driving for the mapping and then the drive over to Doncaster

my only regret is that i wish id have got into lpg years ago

FatLadZ... It's good to hear it's worked out well for you. I'm sorry if I may have sounded a wee bit dramatic in my earlier post but, fact is, I've gotten a bit ****ed with misinformed people slagging off what is a great fuel - 'putting your family at risk to save a few quid' etc.

As you probably know, LPG offers BIG advantages... not only in terms of 'savings'... but also, because it's so clean burning, it's less polluting and, depending on engine and/or set-up, also potentially extends engine life very significantly .

Of course, anything 'different' in life often attracts blind prejudice... and LPG is far from a mainstream fuel. However amateur fitting has led to dramatically unfortunate consequences such as:

Meanwhile, I hope you have many miles of happy motoring on LPG.

lol its ok matey its best to warn those that are new to gas about this.
i wouldnt risk putting my familys health at risk hence why i took lots and lots of advice and even borrowed a gas monitor kit today from a friend to double check all my work.
you cant be too carefull when it comes to gas.
Seems both those storys are the same cause after a refil of gas they ignited a flame in the car to light a cigarrette.
Luckily i dont smoke and if i did it wouldnt be in a car with my family present so they could passive smoke.

Just need to point out that smoking in a LPg car that has had the system correctly installed is not an issue.

Any LPG pipe work that is in the car is dual contained so should there be a leak the gas is ducted to outside of the cabin. Sadly there are to many installers out there who do not know what they are doing.

As to position of the injector nozzles they need to be as close to the petrol injector as possible. In an ideal world you would have the gas nozzle closer to the inlet valve than the petrol injector. The 300mm is the maximum length of pipe from the nozzle to the gas injector.

i put the injectors a few mm back and to the side of the petrol injectors as i needed clearence for the pipes.
the pipes are very short id guess around 150mm.
The car is a poleasure to drive now knowing its costing less than half the price to drive and knowing i got the full kit for £365.99 makes me smile even more
