And did you put the Executive down at the list price value or the purchase value? It might just be that the panel of insurers don't like the 40k+ price tag :-) that does teachers...
PS. I would have thought Teachers is much higher category than you think...All those children waiting to scratch you car :-) |

I asked that question, put it down as purchase value (including options and accessories) ie 35k.
Re: Kids scratching the car! (hehe) So far so good, been doing it for 6 years and surprisingly some of the most tricky kids with horrible home lives and disruptive natures as a result love to get talking cars and motorbikes, so so far it's been an asset not a liability! Plus I try to be nice and not hated! Generally works |

Out of interest once a XC has had a Polestar upgrade how would an insurer know? It's only software not hardware and would need to be contected to a quite complex bit of kit by someone who knows the difference between the new and oringinal settings.

Going back to the original post about spec, I have just cleaned my 2010 exec and was reminded that it has heated rear seats. I remember at the time that I ordered it there thry were not mentioned in the brochure, but they are definately there! Another reason to go for the Exec, unless of course you little darlings leave them on all the time.

I would love it if mine came with heated rear seats - I wonder if it will or if it was a one-off factory error?
Re: The Polestar, as it is a VOLVO fitted accessory, there will be a record made at the dealership on the car database I would think, saying it has been done. If the insurance company checks in the event of a claim, you could come unstuck. Another possibility is to buy a third party mod later, which I am thinking of doing. I have asked a couple of people in dealerships of BMW if they could possibly trace the upgrade in a 320d and they say no way to do it through software. I would worry in the event of a serious accident and a forensic investigation, although I'm not in the habit of killing people, you never know what might happen.
