It is talking about both.
The single turbo is the D3
The twin turbo is the new D5

Seen these ages ago .This relates to last year’s 2010 Volvos , the 205 D5 twin turbo and 2.4 drivE . The 158 CO2 figures he refers to is the 2.4DrivE s 159 g/km.The Twin turbo has been reworked yet again for this year no news yet out on the D3 other than what we know with a CO2 154.

I wasn't sure how long the video has been available, if it is as you say "ages" then I guess you are correct.

thanks

Well maybe not “ages “ages but before the D3 was mooted, as I say he mentions getting down to a CO2 of 158 and as the CO2 of the D3 is 154 I am pretty sure he would of mentioned the lower figure as 158 is a funny figure and I think the odd 1 kg means allot when you’re working in the department of lowering CO2.
Most of what he says applies to all their engines so it sounds good.

The video talks about Euro5 emmissions but the 2010 engines were Euro 4...........

Your right he does mention euro 5 so it could well be that it’s the D3 he is talking about.

They're not really going to call it the D3 are they?

Because this is a D3:

I guess there's no legal reason not to re-use another brand's model numbers but would have thought it was generally something to avoid.

I think you'll find that Volvo may own the rights already to the D3 engine name as Volvo Penta Marine Engines have used that name for years.
