Default Retrofit Powered Tailgate

Hi, does anyone have any experience of retrofitting a powered tailgate option? I have a 2015 R Design that doesn't come with this as standard and I would like to install.

It won't be cheap. Even replacement power struts for existing fittings are expensive, and that's before you start with all the ancillary electrics you would have to fit. It's one of those strange omissions from the R-Design specification.

Not really that strange nigel - differentiates the models but most importantly enables them to meet the price point that the R-Design sells at

You either have the R-Design Lux, or it was a option at cost.

Yes the R design doesnt even have rear parking sensors as standard, its an odd spec, even with the lux pack you dont get front ones.

A triumph of fashion over function ?

Yes, the same with all consumables. Like the Laptops, in the old days. You either got a decent amount of space, or a decent processor. To meet the price, and not make one product redundent.
