I just got three of these to do dimmer duties on LED strip lighting circuits in the yacht. I doubt I'd want to put 5A through them, let alone 10A, but at $3.50 NZ Pesos a throw, they are cheap enough to burn out once a year...
True enough Ash, i was just thinking it would be cheaper to buy one with a ready fitted slider pot................

3537346 look suspiciously like T4.2 bulbs.

I think in usual Volvo style they manage to not quite be a standard bulb. The blue-base Volvo originals have a similar 10mm base but sport a 5mm, I think 1.2w, bulb. The slightly smaller ones will fit though. Make sure you get the right type of base. There are different sorts that twist by different amounts in the fitting. The generic name for this type of bulb is neo-wedge.

A good alternative is to buy a suitable size and wattage 12v wire-ended bulb and re-thread it in the original base. The wires just wrap around on these and there is no soldering involved.

See Forrests suggestion and my link to suitable wire-ended "grain of wheat" Scalextric bulbs ^^^^^, if you can find 12v "grain of wheat" bulbs with plain wire ends like those Scalextric bulbs, they will do the job fine.
