1999? S reg V70 TDI Spares
Hi All,
We bought this V70 from family a couple of months ago, and the Cam belt failed last week! on the outside it is in reasnable condition with a few markes here and there. there are scuffs on the bumpers, the cover to the towing eye is missing, there is evidence of touch up on the rear quarters next to the lights on both sides, and the paint allways seems just a little bit flat. probably could do with a mop. the alloy wheels have seen better days. the engine is dead, but the auto box was fine, and everything seemed to work well except for the C/Locking, which didnt operate the boot. the vehicle has no TAX, and is a non runner The car will be broken for spares, the following parts however are not available: Seats, Alloy Wheels, Make me some offers for the parts that you want. yeah, i'm just testing the water at the moment to see if its worth breaking. we paid 1000 for the car just over a month ago, and mom really loves it, so i would prefer to get it going again if possible! however, it seems that this is probably economically not viable, so spares it may become.
i will have to look into the cost of the parts, and will get back to you. the seats MAY be available, however the O/S mirror isnt, and the bbonnet i also spoken for if it goes to breaking. thanks for the replies. Richard |

I have what I think is a good head here and will be in Scotland next weekend, I'd be surprised if you couldnt put that car back on the road for £300 inc buying the head off me
Drop me a PM if you're interested

that sounds like a great idea. Mom would much prefer that, especially after the amount she spent on it!

I would be surprised if you could do it for that; I had a new cam belt fitted and at the same time a new water pump about 4 months ago by my local specialist and the bill came to about £600 if i recall. I think they charge about £50ph labour and that the parts alone were 250-300.
So factor in a new pump and belts and at least a days labour and it may be much more than £300. |

Would be intersted in the downpipe, maybe the whole exhaust, depending on cost and P&P.
Rather see it back up and running again, shame to break a good car for the sake of a head etc. |
