Towbar electrics 960
In the back of my 1996 960 is a multipin socket which should connect to the towbar electrics - since Volvo only appear to sell the mating plug in their complete towbar harness, does anyone have any idea where the matching plug (with all its pins!) could be obtained?

I've recently wired up my 940 estate. Looking at the pin sizes in the connector I was worried that they may be a little on the small size and create a voltage drop to fridge. As I dont intend to get rid for a while I decided to cut off the connector and to solder the wires together and then I insulated them with heat shrink tubing. .Therefore there is no need for expensive parts, no voltage drop and it makes a much neater job.

wiring for tow bar
The plug housing is part no 968409 1 off
The pins are part no 968374 10 off They will need to be soldered on to get a good connection and I would recommend going straight to the body with the earth wire. 1=left indcator 2=rear fog light 3=earth 4=right indcator 5=right tail lights 6=brake lights 7=left tail lights 8=reversing lights 9=battery live via fuse 15 dash end 20A 10=ing feed via fuse 21 dash end 5A You may need to change the fuses for ones 5A higher,BUT I would recomend feeding a new thicker power cable via a fuse stright from the battery and using the no 10 feed to work a realy, as this would be safer , and give you less volt drop(you only need this if you are putting on two scokets or 13 pin type conector as aposed to just one 7 pin type) Regards Roger |

Hi,
One question would be "Does this fit in with the connector that is already fitted in the rear of the 960/V90?" and will this intergrate correctly with the dash display? Is there a wiring diagram available?? Thanks for the info though.. Des. . .
