440 fob sorted
Incase this is useful info to anyone else. My fob problem of 3 weeks has been sorted.
The fob only worked occassionally, never at home and always when it visited the garage! The volvo dealership were very nice, two local garages were very nice but eventually my neighbour looked under the bonnet and noticed the earth lead from the power pack was loose. When this was sorted and the fobs reprogrammed the problem was sorted. Moral (if any) look under the bonnet. many thanks to the people who replied to my posting Joraine |

440 Key Fob/A.C Problems
Joraine,
I have a similar problem with my '96 440 1.8GS. On my car the key fob also disengages the immobiliser, so when it doesn’t work, we are unable to start the car. I have replaced the batteries in the fob but to no avail. When you say the earth lead from the power pack was loose, are you referring to the earth lead from the battery? Another query I have if anyone can help, is that the A.C has decided to stop working (not ideal for the summer!). When you pushed the button on the dashboard previously, you could hear it engaging, but now when you push the button nothing happens. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem/found a solution? Many Thanks, Mark |
