Talking V70r insurance

Chaps

I know there have been many posts previously on this but I have been flabbergasted yet again !!!!!

Whilst I cannot complain at the pricing level ( decrease from last year ) how about this ;

Correct the registration by removing the cherished plate and inserting the correct reg results in an increase of ;

Hastings direct - £30

Axa - £100

Explanations on a postcard please !!!!!!

Only explanation I can think of is an attempt to mug me once again by the ever dishonest insurance industry !

iv just been shot with **** on my insurance!.

im 47 with 10yrs NCB.. no convictions or driving offences and iv just renewed it at the lovely price of £530.

i spent 2 days ringing and searching for quotes and thats the best i could come up with.

i only paid £320 last year for a nissan xtrail dci.

ditto 47, I'm in a c70 GT having swapped from a VW Phaeton, a 60K new 270bhp luxury car with horrendous spares prices ( 240 quid for a set of front discs anyone?) , the VW was 350 quid a year the C70 500 quid... full no claims, no points, nice area etc...

its a black art I tell you...

Yep chaps it is all madness but my point is how do you became a decreased risk by having a cherished plate !! !! !

Told AXA today to shove it - almost identical policy with less excesses with Hastings direct £357 all in - £ 130 less than with AXA and despite me having 2 other motas with them. Clearly do not give a toss.

At that price I can afford to loan the T5 to a good home so long as you insure and look after her - obs PnUt you get first dibs given local and help given to date ! Just let me kniw if mrs Nuts snaps another cambelt !!!!!!

And Entwisi I feel for you mate it is clear that a Volvo is not an advantage when it comes to insurance premiums. Most expensive mota I have ever insured was last year _ 17 yr old S60 2litre T - £560 - with my mathematical ability that is getting on for twice what I paid today for a mota worth £3k instead of £500, faster, heavier etc etc

I reckon all underwriters are drugos !

If you want a giggle get a a quote for an 850/v70 tdi, generally more than its faster more powerful T5 sibling! Crazy...

Martin

That is truly nuts or does it say something about TDI drivers !!!!!!

Would tend to support the proposition that the premium is based on profit not risk. Still waiting for a comrade working in the underwriting industry to give us all an explanation ............................ !

Will come as no surprise that I did not pursue the pointless task of inviting Axa or Hastings to explain why I am cheaper with a cherished plate
