Will have one of these (2.5T or D5 geartronic) if the Missus can be parted from her Pug, but none the less love the "don't like" comment in the summary! Range: two-door sports coupé with a choice of five petrol engines and three turbodiesels. Six-speed manual version of 2.4-litre D5 turbodiesel version arrives in June. Prices: £14,750 to £22,995. First drive report published September 9, 2006. We like: Great to look at and to drive. The major controls trade absolute precision for a long-legged, rangy feel, but the C30 can still be hustled along like the best sports coupés. Looks terrific and, unlike German rivals, you never feel you're in the cheap model. Interior is well designed, unmistakably Volvo, and accommodates four with ease in safety and style. We don't like: Rear parcel shelf cover redefines the word crap and replaces the Dodge Viper hood as the worst thing on any car, ever. Steering not as good as the BMW 1-series, ride is harsh on poor surfaces. Verdict: Can't give you my marks, but I like it so much I could kiss it: X
