The 7x16 Galaxy wheels from Volvo are quite nice, I have a set of those as well. I use them in winter, with 205/50-16 studless Michelin X-Ice.

what is the ride like now on tyres with such a low profile ? Does it tramline much ?

Nice, however I think you should consider the 17 inch Volvo Polaris. These were made for 200 and 700 series. (I am not a hero with inserting pictures but clicking on the thumbnail with a picture of a similar 780 I own, should give an idea)
