Keeps cutting out
Hello Everyone
Im hoping someone will be able to shed some light on this problem I'm having with my 2006 XC90 d5 auto. When I go round a left hand bend it cuts out, it always restarts straight away and off you go. the Vida codes i have are: ECM-1000 Atmospheric pressure sensor- Faulty signal ECM-1600 Boost pressure sensor- Signal outside permitted range ECM-2D20 Fuel pressure control valve-Signal too low Can they be connected in some way? Any help will be appreciated thank you Regards Stuart

If the problem is repeatable, I suggest graphing the data in vida while you repeat the driving condition that triggers the fault.
That should provide more insight. I'm picking likely a fuel delivery problem though....

Hi Swissxc90
thank you Do you think its the pump in the fuel tank? It was running great, as it still does as long as you don't turn left. Then it started to miss fire(fuel starvation) and now it dies after the corner. So it is getting worse. I thought of fuel pump but i was not sure with those codes.

It's likely to be
1. Fuel filter 2. Fuel pump 3. Fuel equalising lines blocked / kinked Fuel filter is the easiest to replace. When was it last replaced? Should be done regularly as part of normal service. I think every 2 years.

Hi Swissxc90
Thank you for your reply I changed fuel filter In February when it started to mess about, it had been changed at its service last February. I have just stripped the car down to do its fuel pump. Pump and sender are now exposed. Can’t find a new pump at the moment. Still looking. Where are the fuel equalising lines? There’s the metal flow and return from the high pressure pump. Regards Stuart
