700/900 roofrack width

I've recently picked up an original volvo roofrack (the aluminium kind with the spoiler at the front) from ebay, it was advertised as being for a 240 but doesn't fit my car. The rack is about an inch or so too wide to fit in the gutters on the 240, would I be right in thinking it's probably a 700 or 900 rack instead? If anybody could measure the gap between gutters so I can confirm I'd be most grateful.

My big aluminium roofrack with the 'spoiler' at the back fits both my 940 estate and my 760 saloon, also my 760 saloon Volvo roofbars fit my 940 estate. I can tell you for a fact that the 700/900 ones are interchangeable but the 200 series ones are a different width altogether. What you have there is one that will fit 700/900 series

My 940 measures approx 127cm gutter to gutter.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll measure it up in the morning to check it's indeed a 700/900 rack.

Presuming it is, anybody want to buy it off me? I paid £35 and I'd just like to get my money back for it, it's got all its knobs and plastic bits on it and nothing's bent or broken. Located m25 j11, or I could break it down and post it flatpacked for probably no more than £15 or so.
