Not wishing to sound a nay sayer.... here comes the but.....

There used to be a web site called V70R.com ( part of swedspeed.com now???) anyhow there were always threads on there about folks who were tuning their R's. Two areas of weakness always tended to materialise...Stripped collar gear - apparently a blind man designed the teeth cos they don't mesh well with their counterparts, and were constanly stripping after nominal mileages of "harsh" treatment, and there were several radical solutions to this issue.( including a facinating 60+page thread of one guys journey to achieve a better collar gear.
The second area was gearbox, the extra torque/power generated was too much for the transmission, which if the extra umph was regularly used would cry "uncle" IIRC early auto boxes were torque limited in 1st +2nd gear cos they could not cope with the full 400Nm from std engine.

The above were not usually problems for small increases in power, but the OP appears to be going for " max attack" - so be aware.

Cheers
Bob

Thanks for the warning at least, I am aware of the coller sleeve being a weekness but this doesn't worry me, yes I'll need to work on it more but I don't launch a lot, I have the manual so bit of a stronger box, I will be taking into account the torque limits, when I eventually get around to dyno mapping it ill be making sure the power delivery on launches will be reduced, you can have the power but yes I agree at a cost but by then this car will likely just be a track car, I know the price of petrol has come down but I'm fearful this is a sign of things to come, I would convert to lpg but from what I've been making sense of that will be the first thing to dry up at the pumps

An easy fix for the weak transmission is to run the car on 165x17 Michelin ZX's.

They have zero grip and will last forever.

That sounds like some fun, like driving on ice.

What about the quaife front and rear lsd diffs? It's not like we have to deal with to much snow down here on the south coast

Thank you, after looking into it a little more I can see you're correct, the blocks are different, the differences are incredibly subtle, at least from what I could find, I won't go into to much as I honestly do not know enough, hence the thread.

From what I read there's about 25mm difference in the dimensions, couldn't tell if this was for length, width or depth but essentially changes how the blocks can be mounted, coolant ports and oil ports have different routes, feel free to include more.

When I had to replace my pistons it was a good opportunity to forge the internals, I ordered new bearings
Forged h beam rods and wiseco forged pistons, when I received the pistons I noticed they were labelled s60r/focus rs, I can't remember seeing anything on the rods but to be fair my attention was more on the pistons as I needed to do the math on gapping the rings.

So there are certain components that can be used but how much more, if any could also be
