Default 2018 S60 t4 auto engine noise

Having never owned a volvo before i am courious as
to what the engine should sound like under acceleration .
I previously had a ford mondeo petrol ecoboost 2.0 tiptronic and the engine was quiet under load ,my volvo however is quiet on tickover or light load but sounds like a racing car when acceleration its worse on eco mode ,
I took it back to garage who said its normal .
Mpg is good power is good just cant get my head around the acceleration noise

Do you find the noise disconcerting? Annoying or just different?. I would think if all is working well, fuel consumption within reasonable limits and the exhaust is still attached both back and front, enjoy the noise a nice motor makes.

It is so different to have a petrol car that sounds highly tuned ,i do enjoy the sound i must admit but was a bit taken aback by it as haven't had it very long ,fuel consumption is excellent better than my wifes little runaround,
I reckon this car will be a keeper
