keys locked in bootC
Hi
well some how i have managed to drop my only key and fob in the boot of the C70. had to break in by the rear side window, hoping i could pop the boot and just replace the glass . it set of the alarm , which i expected, but . car has locked up cant open doors or boot , which i didn't Any one got any ideas Please . hezi

Possible idea: Remove bottom of door card (re-useable plastic rivets) to gain access to the boot release switch.
Apply 12volts across the switch connectors to try and trip open the boot.

Or a trip to volvo to order a service key no remote,just open doors,steering column lock.

If you're into the cab already, see if there is a 'ski hatch' behind the rear armrest, should open up and give you access to boot.

Stink! We did that once in an Audi ended up paying a locksmith. I like TXC's idea if you still have access

Cheers guys,
I wil have another look today i can crawl in through the broken window . The boot is packed full so cant see the keys . have joined rac yesterday , will talk to them and the dealer tomorrow if no look today . Will also try disconecting the power again and see if it resets when reconnected .

I did exactly the same in my C70 a few years ago when I was 150 miles away from home.
I called out the RAC and they tried prising open the door window until I explained the deadlock wouldn't let them operate anything inside. They referred to a computer then jacked up the front right of the car and put a positive lead to the windscreen washer. This fools the computer into thinking there's someone in the car and the power comes on to the window switches. Then they were able to open the drivers window by driving a wedge in to make a gap at the top of the window and using a wire to operate the window down switch. The alarm was then going but I scrambled through the window and got my arm through the opening in the back seat and with a torch just managed to hook the keys on a bit of wire. One press and we were in business again!

Well battery off all night , not worked.
I will try the RAC, probably have to get towed back or to a dealer . it would be easier it the car was not miles away.

hi all i know this is an old thread but i have an easy solution if you ever find yourself locked out with the deadlocks on you need a 12v power supply a power probe is ideal but a jump pack or leads as long as they're nice and long ones i'll just say i have 15 years experience at the roadside 10 of those in a little yellow van and have gain access to everything to top of the line range rovers to the scrapiest of vauxhall corsa's.There is two methods listed in the aa's tech handbook the one that has always been more successful for me is to apply power to the horn power connector this in turn powers up the ignition circuit you can now push some small wooden or rubber wedges into the top of the front door opening a small gap then using wire (old wire coat hanger)or a bit of copper brake pipe is ideal operate the electric window switch to open the window and you're in.
To power up put hand under front bumper and up to either horn behind grille pull off connector now find a good earth and attach the earth from your power supply now if you've not not got a probe get a small length of wire with a 10 amp fuse in line one end of this connects to positive on supply the other to the horn connector it should be a green wire but in practice it's difficult to see but so long as you use a fuse you won't do any harm if you get it wrong.If you don't have any joy persevere it WILL be that your earth is not good enough can be hard to get proper earth leave your positive connected and move your earth around you should see some slight sparking as you connect your earth if its good you can also use the same method via the plug on the washer bottle on some vcs70s but never had any sucess that way myself hope this may help someone. A solution that i have found to work if your you're battery is dead and you can get in but alarm/immobilser won't turn off is to disconnect both battery terminals and apply you're jump leads/pack directly to the terminals,careful not to let them touch the body sometimes just simply ensuring the car's getting a full 12 volts once it's running connect the battery up and check for charging
