V50 loss of power and jolting
I had problems with my throttle body housing as it was rough starting when it got up to temperature. I was directed to clean it all, so I took it all off to clean it and found out that one of the butterfly flaps inside had broken and was not springing back closed. I did my research and found I would only have to buy a new one. In the mean time I put the old one back on as I still needed To get around for work etc but putting it back on has made it start jolting harshly semi throttle and no boost at all. I’ve had the new throttle body housing delivered today and put it on hoping all would be well. But it’s still jolting and no power at all. It’s a 2.0 D 136bhp 2005 and has the twin buttlerfly flap housing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Quote:
Some self fusing rubber tape should sort it out, I'd expect it to be oily in there so clean it all up with a rag first.

I did notice that hose had a bend to it. If I look down on the engine the one on the left made of plastic, but it does have a metal cirlce clamp holding secure. but the rim of that hose bends in when pushed on to the throttle body housing. I will try bending it back in and tape it up and see how it goes. Sounds like a nicer scenario than what I've been told. That maybe the MAF sensor or egr valve might need cleaning or worse off replacing them. Thanks for the reply
