Default Fill windscreen washer

Hi guys,

having trouble getting the fill washer message to go away. when im filling up the washer tank it doesnt seem to be taking much water to fill.

any suggestions?

The filter where the filler tube meets the water tank could be blocked , does the filler tube readily overflow when you fill the bottle? It should take the full flow of a watering can ..

yip its defo overflowing quickly. is it a case of taking the hose off, or shoving a brush down it? or could i just use mr muscle sink and plughole unblocker? :P

It is fairly easy to remove the filler tube and see the white plastic filter mesh below , you can clean it out ..

Same thing happened to me. The plastic gauze gets gunged up with green slime and goo from the washer fluid. It's one or two Torx bolts to undo the filler neck to expose the filter.

Hello, There really should be an instruction to run windshield washers frequently to keep them clear-all cars, all years. Kira

There isnt a problem if volvo wash fluid is used , it contains a bacteria prevention agent .. some of these unkown origin wash fluids actualy turn the fluid to a kind of green jelly over time.. legionaires disease is around in wash bottles too .

got it cleared was just gunged up. only recently got the vehicle so just trying to sort it out. plus the screen wash takes a beating since the M8 always seems to have my windscreen covered.
