How do I get past the code required on my CR-702 radio. Is there a trick? Recently purchased 740 from appologetic owner who had not used the radio for the three years he had it! Don't think I can take it for much longer (2 weeks).

The only trick is to enter a code. Any Volvo dealer will supply this for a fee.

excuse my ignorance, but what is a PM and VIN?

PM means personal message. you can get my e-mail address if you click on my profile. VIN is your vehicle identification number or chassis number. you'll find this on your registration document. The long 16 digit number starting with YV....
