Default Volvo 2.0D rattle

Hi,
I have a new V50 (MY08) with 2.0d engine, about 1000 miles so far. While the engine is quite still while idle, I can hear some rattle when accelerating (even slowly) and the rpm is between 1600 - 2000 - it is most noticeable in 2. and 3. gear. The rattle disappears, or is less noticeable above 2000 rpm.
Strange thing is I do not hear any rattle while the engine is cold.
Do you think there is something wrong with the engine, or am I just too cautious (it's my first diesel...) ?
Thanks for advice.

hi is it a very quite kind of buzz more than a rattle, (like something flapping in the wind) i have this in mine if the radio is low or off doing 70ish on the motor way its doing my head in at the mo but i can't pin point it. sounds to be coming from behind the dash mines an 09 model 8500 mile so in its service it'll be sorted i hope

The rattle in my car can be only heard at low speeds < 50 mph. It's probably just the diesel. I was wandering why it doesn't rattle when engine is could cold. Anyway, going to service to fit in an alarm so will ask them to check it.
Thanks for answers
