Cooling system
855 2.5 10v
Got my heater sorted I was a combination of crap in the matrix and a new thermostat Heater now toasty warm One question , are there any bleed screws on the cooling system? The reason I ask is becaue it did not seem to take any awful lot of water to refill the cooling system. I've gone round squeezing all the hoses with the cap off to try and get any air out but I'm still not 100% happy. Also managed to remove steering wheel and reposition without setting the airbag off! Next jobs are change top engine mount and trying to cure slight exhaust blow which seems to be from the manifold area. Tried taking the heat shield off earlier but the bolts seem to be 11.5mm! There seems far too much play with a 12mm any idea what size they are? They're not imperial either BTW |

RE: Cooling system
My owner handbook says 7.2l coolant so that should give you some idea.
As for the heatshield, a 12mm socket fits mine with little play. |

RE: Cooling system
No bleed screws.
I always have to top up after running the engine to working temp and allowing it to cool. When I've had it done in a garage they fill under vacuum to aviod the problem. Sorry to say exhaust blow is probably from the flexible joint or cracked manifold. If I remember correctly a new manifold is required. |

RE: Cooling system
Let us know how it goes after the engine mount change..if you're lucky the exhaust blow is just a failed gasket on the drop pipe flange.
