Look for dampnees on the carpet/base of the heater box, passenger side.

Why, Don't reaaly know but suspect internal corrosion. I've had an 855 and now a V70 and never had a problem, but I do replace the coolant every two years.

If you do a search on this forum there have been a number of topics on this.

I've never had to do it but this may help.
Note, it's for LHD so may need some interpretation.

Hi,

sorry to hear the matrix has gone. Not a bad job to do - probably 1 - 1.5 hours. A few months ago I posted a 'guide' on how to change the matrix for someone else who had the same problem on this forum, so if you do a search you should find it. AFAIK the matrix is the same for the V70's (the early classic shape) and 850's.

Cheers
