Hello guys
I have a weird issue, yesterday while driving i got "Brake failure - stop safely"
I reconnected the battery and made it home, the car was running fine.
This morning the battery is flat out dead and there is a clicking noise under the passenger seat. I am sure the battery was good.
Any idea what this can be?

Sounds like the battery is dead. Keep in mind if you jumpstart it, it might fail again after a few days.

I'd probably say you'd be best getting a new one.

I will charge it this evening and see if it's going to start tomorrow.
I am more concerned about the brake failure message and the clicking on the passenger seat which i now believe comes from under the box.

The clicking noise could be the starter motor solenoid trying to engage the starter but not enough power in the battery to engage & turn the starter

I've got an update.
I charged the battery overnight and it charged up to 13.1 volts and 14.5 when the car is running.
Which means yes the car is running fine now, the clicking noise is gone but i did read 2 errors with the vida/dice

The one that is still there and reappeared after erasing it is:
ECM-2A50 Particulate trap - Faulty signal

The second error that appears to be gone is:
SWM-0033 Steering wheel angle sensor internal fault

I drove the car for 10 minutes and parked it. I will check the battery voltage in a couple of hours to see if it goes down. I couldn't find how to check the battery current drawn from the vida/dice software as once i turn off the engine and take the key out it stops reporting the sensor value.
It does show -6.5amps being drawn whith the key in at position 0 which is a bit high..

Edit:
Can someone recommend a garage in London that can fix the car without breaking it more? I've been to kwik fit but they broke a cable for the airflow sensor while they were replacing bulbs and breaks..
I've been to a few local garages but they keep insisting everything with the car is fine.
It's just so frustrating.. Also it must be done before friday next week so i can't book official volvo service due to having to wait too long for that

it sounds like the battery you need a load test done either a garage or a load tester via ebay . when my battery started to play up i had all sorts of faults/codes as soon as i replaced it all was good again , but i do have my own load tester worth its weight in gold over the years for £12
a quick search found the type i have but there are later versions out know

Another update, i am getting confused now.

After driving for a bit there are no problems except once it didn't want to lock, i had to disconnect the battery again.

Today i read the codes after some driving and now i am getting codes like

ECM-7129 Engine control module (ECM) - Faulty signal
ECM-7500 Engine speed (RPM) signal - Faulty signal
ECM-2A30 Particulate trap - Signal too high
ECM-2A30 Particulate trap - Faulty signal
ECM-930A Clutch pedal switch A - Signal missing

Any ideas?

If you changed your battery, I would check your alternator is charging properly as well.

How old is your battery as well.

Low battery can cause multitude of issues. I would first install a new battery and clear all codes.

Ok here is another update.
I replaced the battery and cleaned all the errors.

After about 800 miles of driving over a few days with almost no problems except a bit power loss for half an hour on the highway which i suspect is due to clogged dpf i had no problems and nothing on the dashboard.
Today i checked for errors again to see what was recorded and all i've got is this one:

ECM-930A Clutch pedal switch A - Signal missing
