Hello Packrers, Re seat webbing , I replaced mine with what I have used to reweb our beach chairs, very strong with no rubber to dry out and stretch. This product also does not stretch which can be good/bad but I am satisfied with the comfort. Replacing the seat foam itself mighr also be a help but in in budget at thehis time, Cheers, Russ

Hi Doug,
I purchased some foam from a market trader on Norwich market who's sole business is supplying all types of foam, he advised me to use a particular foam he had which was around and inch or so thick which had what he called a skin on one face of it, I added it to the existing foam and did both the seat bases and seat back rests. The webbing was originally Pirelli webbing as used in many sofa's years ago, I bought my last lot a few years ago from Amazon cars, but notice Brookehouse use a non elastic type perhaps similar to the type Russ mentions? One things for certain, despite having 50+ years of technology in our favour the rubber today is no where near the equal of that supplied years ago, well with the exception of tyres perhaps? A great example is rubber fuel pipe which currently starts to perish and split in 3-6 months. Well done on locating some grilles, I much prefer the Late type grilles (also fitted to GT's) over the mid period ones. The leak from your gearbox is probably the main output seal, my 69 car (Alice) suffers this common problem. Suspension clonk could be a number of things, even a broken spring, a very common fault on PV's btw. Brake judder may be a warped disc, if so and if there's enough met on them they may withstand a skim? I certainly intend to attend Sywell, so be great to see you there if we can both make it. You have chosen well with you car, looks like a nice late (my fave) well sorted and solid car with many of the desired and well chosen Amazon enhancements. J. |
