Stripped rear brakes, oddly the shoes were fine[to begin with I jacked it up and with the handbrake on the near side was locked solid and the offside one had a fraction of movement]so why it failed so badly on her I don't know.Anyway cleaned everything up reassembled and adjusted and both wheels certainly lock up now but I've told her to park it in gear still just to be on safe side.Replacing fuse 15 restored interior light function, just the flashing boot open light to sort out now if only so she can open/close the roof!

The boot lock will be the electrical connection not knowing the boot is closed and yes, the roof will not function if the boot is not shut. Hope Step-daughter is progressing well.

She's progressing well.Where would I find the electrical connection for the boot warning light? is it actually in the boot lock/latch?

Yes, it is. You will have to remove the plastic trim panel inside the boot to access. I understand it is a micro switch, but not sure as never had to investigate.

Thanks ITS I thought it'd be a microswitch was sure if it would be incorporated into the boot lock on the bootlid or at the latch piece bolted to the back panel. Will have a look[really no rush at present until weather improves for her wanting top down motoring.
Clan: As far as I'm aware the handbrake hasn't been looked at in her ownership[a couple of years]car was tested towards end of last year, but that only tests efficiency with the wheels going forwards not backwards. |

Dippydog: Apologies, my bad. The electrical contacts are in the lock attached to the boot lid. It must have been a senior moment as I was visualising the boot being the same as the bonnet where the locks are on the body.
