Sorry to hijack this thread a bit, but I'm also looking at XC60, manufactured in 2011, but with D3 Drive-E engine. I fully understand that diesel engines are Lucifer's creation, but honestly, how reliable are these? What are the common issues with this engine version? Also, are there any obvious things I need to pay attention to?
I have Vida, so at least car will be checked for error codes stored.

In my humble opinion, the 5-cylinder Volvo diesel engine (whether D3, D4 or D5 variant) is the most structurally reliable diesel engine ever fitted to a passenger car.
