Default D4162T revival after storage

I have a V50 and a C30 both DRIVe (1.6 diesel D4162T). The C30 was SORNed at 52k miles a couple of years before the pandemic and due to unforeseen circumstances was not put back on the road. COVID restrictions mean it is not needed back on the road until they are over, especially as the V50 has only clocked up about 500 miles in the last 12 months on top of its 103k.

While I have revived and rebuilt petrol engines after prepped and unprepped storage, I have no experience of modern-ish diesels.

Any advice on what precautions to take before and after starting the engine, please? The battery has been trickle charged in-situ.

Change the oil is what I would do.

There are probably many common procedures between petrol and diesel, but other members will be able to offer more detailed and better advice.

Any Update on how this started?
