The engine is a 1995, I have removed the EGR system and blanked the ports off.

The 95 EZK is a gold EZK so I have kept it for my 1997 940 for when it gets a custom ECU & EZK chipset.

Yes the rpm needle works with the 1991 ecu in place as it is idling at 1700 RPM, I belive this is because the catalytic converter isn't bolted to the downpipe as it turns out the turbo downpipe isn't as long as the non turbo one. So there is about a 3 inch gap between the downpipe and cat it is probably in limp home mode as the O2 sensor is screwed in to the aftermarket cat so it has no lambda reading.
Just sent some info via WhatsApp Luke, also found this :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-ENG...7/353276590321

Price is ŁOUCH! but you may be able to find the same unit disguised as a B230FT ECU for 1991 or 940 ECU but be careful of how it's listed, i've had a quick look and found many B200 non-turbo ECUs listed as being for 91-98 B230 turbos!

The immobiliser is in the ECU. I had a similar problem and had a special chip made without the immobiliser.

That is very odd that the rev counter is not working on the Turbo ECU and is on the NA, yet sparks are working on both, doesn't make any sense. The rev counter is not connected to the ECU (in my car), or any petrol car I have ever had.

High idle will be some some fault condition not usually related to O2 sensor. The car should run fine without it, just a bit rich and emissiony.

Swapping ECU between looms is quite tricky, you need to do alot of reseach. The guys that provide the chips usually have good information.

Just remembered I've got the charcoal canister unplugged as I was messing with the routing so the vacuum leak is probably another reason for the high idle.

ECU chip from Martin fitted, I thought it is quarter past 9 at night so I'll wait until the morning before trying it due to the open downpipe... I couldn't resist so I started it for less than a second. It is now running the 98 turbo ECU and EZK and starts!!!

So tomorrow I will run it up properly and check for leaks etc.

Sorted, some absolute bell end has messed with the throttle linkage holding the throttle butterfly off the stop.

Some people shouldn't be trusted with wheelbarrows, never mind cars!
