Default V70 2.5T SE LUX - I want more ponies

Hi guys and gals.

I have a 2010 2.5T SE LUX, the 231BHP petrol.

I’m after more ponies out of her, I just happen to have a mate who owns a salvage yard and has plenty of parts from all ranges of volvos.

First step would be great if I can use parts from other models, so maybe the turbo/injectors from the T5, although I don’t think that will work with the pressure difference between the 2 engines, but if I don’t ask I don’t get.

I’m after upgrading the intercooler, exhaust and air filter then a remap but I’m coming up short finding retailers so any help here would be great.

I’ve already upgraded my centre console with the face lift version but, will it be possible to upgrade it again with a console from the 2012+ models??

I’ve got the bigger callipers and bigger pads and discs fitted, but if anyone has any recommendations that I’ve not listed that would be great as well.

How much BHP can this engine push before reliability becomes an issue?

Many thanks

Cant really help specific mods for your car, but try having a look for parts in the below site:
https://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/index.php?cPath=28

For modding your car, you are better of searching for the Volvo groups on Facebook, such as the below below
volvotuning
volvo600
volvot5owners

etc etc, there are tonnes of really knowladgeble people there all into modding cars.

Engine will need a "block mod" (tonnes of info about this) to prevent cracked liner/sleeves at higher bhp outputs.

The question is what power figure determines getting the block mod done? Liners can apparently crack on stock engines if you are unlucky, though the general word on the street is anything over 300bhp you should get the block mod done.

Intercooler + downpipe + remap on this engine appears to give around 285-300bhp depending on who you speak to.

Here is a 300bhp V70 MK3 2.5T - skip to 4:46 to see acceleration comparison.

Looking at their timings, the state of tune makes an enormous difference to the 0-200kmh time!

apparently stage 2 needs injectors/intercooler if you want big power

but stage 1 remap is 280bhp so I would just do that and get the best performing tyres with the cash you would have spent
