Deafening silence ! Been considering a visit here myself for a while - the old green eyed curiosity. Looks like the dipstick and injector wiring harness have to shift and the separartor is cast integral with the oil filter housing. Looks like two screws below the filter hold the whole arrangement in place.Hopefully it then pulls out forward. Do I really want to?

yep with you on this Brendan, but if you look at the whole set up if the pipe is clear are we saying that the catch tank is the same system as the pertol and it gets bunged up as it goes into the block but is it just a tank for the oil.

Don't understand how it's supposed to work. Presume it's a cyclone drawing from the crankcase via the little hose over the top and then around the houses to the turbo inlet hose. What is that electrical item at the turbo end? A valve ? If the drain does bung up, presumably it keeps firing oil into the induction system.

i would suspect its a valve that lets the pressure in through the turbo???. just a guess. and as you say the catch tank would fill up, i have no oil in those pipes, i have had a look at the you no what but canot find anything about it , the replacement part is only showing that pipe .unlees someone else has any idea. i have a busy week doing nothing so are the green eyes going to take over

Just did a search and there's not much to be found on this!

So keep me updated, preferably with pics, as the terms you guys used in the previous posts rubbed it in that reading English costs a lot more effort than reading Dutch. Pics are universal though

(Me having deleted Vadis due to computerchange doesn't help either...)

Did see a post on Hobbyhorse changing the rubber thinghy going into the turbo, and the cranckcase ventilation ends there I think, so may look under the hood where that tube traces back to.

Also I'm sure I read somewhere that there's a link between the vac pump and failing engine mounts and crankcase pressure?

Is this right? I really can't see why but another post suggests disconnecting and blocking off the rear engine mount vacuum line and then seeing a corresponding reduction in oil mist from the dipstick.

Finally I just read another post saying that below 1500rpm you do get mist from the dipstick but above that it's drawn into the intake.

Can anyone confirm this?

So that little valve thing is supposed to open at 1500 ? More is known about King Solomon's mines.

Mines been given a good flush annually at each oil change but you've set me thinking about this now. I'll delve into VIDA (which on the face of it is another King Solomon's mine).
