V60 Rdesign or Cross Country!
Hi everyone, I'm looking for your opinion on a matter I just can't decide on please!
I'm looking at a used v60 because my family has just expanded and my small car doesn't fit a pushchair! I've fallen in love with the v60 D4 and have found 2 in my area\budget. An Rdesign and a cross country. I've driven both and both have their own merits. If life were simple, I'd jump on the Rdesign, I find it more comfortable and the sporty nature of it appeals to me a little more..BUT...I lost my dad a few months ago and he had a boat that has now fallen to me. It's not something we tow more than a handful of times a year and the trailer has a gross weight of 1400kg which the boat is actually no-where near so the v60 should be fine with that from what I can tell. But it's thrown me for which to choose, is the higher suspension going to help me when towing? Or will the stiffer Rdesign suspension compress less so not really be any lower?! From what I know the hitch has to be within a set height regardless of the car due to an EU directive so am I just overthinking it all? Any comments welcome to help me be happy with my desicion! Thanks! |

I owned a V70XC (cross country) for 13 years and it was probably the most amazing and versatile car I had ever owned - it gobbled up so much more luggage than the XC60 and the length of the loading space - with rear seats folded down - was exceptional.
Based on that experience this decision will be a no-brainer for me - go for the Cross Country. Add to that the fact that the Cross Country has a "presence" that the R-design cannot match ...
