Smile Eletricial issues.

After 3 years with a terrible BMW 318I,I've now thankfully gone back to a Volvo, The car is a lovely 2006 V70 2.4 automatic estate which I brought last weekend. However the car does have a few issues that I'm hoping clever people can help me with, the issue are as follows:

1. A warning light on the dash stating the boot is open, yet it isn't?

2. A message keeps appearing stating rear fog light bulb failure, yet the bulb is fine and working OK.

3. A message keeps coming up saying anti skid need servicing?

4. Yesterday the lights on the radio HU850 just stopped working, radio and display works fine it just doesn't light up when the lights come on, is ti just one bulb or a fuse that could have blown?

5. A message on the dash shows DTSC on, no idea what this means.

Any help on the above issue would be most helpful please.

i think the usual response is 'buy VIDA and tell us the codes'

it's a worthy investment anyway if you're planning to go Volvo for a while

seek out cheshired5 for purchase and assistance (sirobb on youtube)

These radios often go bad, may try replacing with a HU650 from the same year - important to have the battery disconnected. It will not use the amplifier and I believe has 1 CD. For the other problems, search first on forums, most are common. For the anti-skid could be several things such as axle center bolt, cracked reluctor ring. DTSC on is fine but the DTSC button on the console might have got some coffee on it

or you could just ditch the naff old radio and stick in a new one

this (or the right one for your year) plus a double din of your choice.

mine has android auto inc satnav and so on. does anyone even use CD's any more lol

dont disconnect the heater panel, it will throw up an SRS fault

the radio has bulbs in the back - the sort you turn a quarter turn with a flat screwdriver.

"DSTC on" is just the car telling you its working fine - it was an option to mute the message in some cars (via software) all its saying is the stability control is active.

I would ensure you have a good, charged battery as that can cause ABS errors

From the list in your post
1. Could be a faulty or just a dirty microswitch in the tailgate catch.
2. Could simply need a higher quality new bulb.
3. Could be a loose driveshaft bolt or cracked abs ring.
4. Maybe is just a fuse as you suspect.
5. Will almost certainly be related to 3 and solved at the same time.
