V70 classics could be got for £750 for a while and seemed plentiful, scrappage and age have now started to see good examples of these cars command decent money and I think quite rightly so as they are heading towards classic territory, my car is now 16 years old, OK it has a while to go before someone could claim it was a classic but I think a generally good all round MkII V70 T5 is going to head the same way so has it may have reached the lowest price it will and will creep up if kept in decent form. I also note the reg is worth £250 - may keep though. Last edited by TDIvolvo; May 19th, 2021 at 12:50. |

I am interested in the cars of my youth which was not that long ago (I am interested in 2000 year vehicles give or take. I find insurance to be incredibly expensive in many respects. |

Scintillating thread. A guy wants to sell a car and we get a manners class.
1) Is the seller able to affix pictures? 2) Will the seller pedal the car himself and risk meeting wicked and vulgar people? 3) If not, then he's dumping the car and the "500 quid eBay" price is assured. List the car's repairs / maintenance items in reverse order (starting with the newest) and make that one of the pictures. Stress the fact that the car has all the tasks COMPLETED. New tires+brakes etc. "This is the car you want". I sold a V70 and the sentence, "The big, expensive timing belt maintenance has been done", is what caught my buyer's eye. Your (UK) used car prices are quite low compared to No. America. I gotta say bemoaning a trip to west Scotland sounds like me were I to grouse a Phillie run. Seriously, your car sounds like a winner. Given its apparent state of repair, it's a shame there's no family member or friend's offspring who needs a nice, safe car. Settle in on a price and stick to it. Print up the completed maintenance timeline and hand it to people who come by. They'll reread it and/or show it to friends. |

After some deliberation I have decided I am going to get her cleaned up, some little niggles fixed some little paint repairs and then put a price on her and see what happens. If she never sells then fine, if she sells in a day then fine.
