Sounds like an intermittent fault with one of the sensors. To check which one, when it next happens, switch off the engine, but keep the ignition on, select reverse gear, and put your ear in front of each sensor in turn. When they are working correctly, you should hear a faint clicking sound. Once you've found the offending sensor, my limited knowledge runs out!, but I guess it's a case of checking the wiring to that one or possibly changing it.

sounds like a corroded sensor, next time ot happens get out and put your hand over each one in turn and see which one doenst react like the rest, be warned most oem sensors are like £80 each to replace.

I changed my bumpers to the later R design. The rear bumper I bought off Ebay for £80 had the parking sensor holes in all ready for sensors.

I bought a £20 kit off Ebay and it works brilliant and v. accurate and this one even speaks so you can easily fit an aftermarket kit for £20.
