Default Blinking into the sunshine

Just wanted to share my dusty 240 out in the sunshine for the first time this year after her winter hibernation with you. Hardly need to say, but of course she started at the first turn of the key after less then two seconds.

Now, must get on and fit those new Nivos...

What a lovely old car that is,Only thing letting it down are the steel wheels!nothing a bit of paint wouldn't sort out though.
I really like the colour and could quite easily see myself driving it Lol.
Very nice thank you.
Regards Brian.

Taken from his best angle!
I agree on the wheels, they will be done in time.
First milestone is to get an MOT! (see my project thread)

I know it's subjective, but I think the 240 was one of the best looking of all Volvos. Somehow the designers managed to get the proportions just right, so the car has a sense of movement even when it's stationary I'm told that the curve/sweep of the wheel arches is important too, and you can see why by simply comparing with, for example, the 940. And of all the 240s the Tors is the most elegant of all, I think. I don't know if it's the 'go-faster' stripes, the roof bars, or the imposing black trim, but really I think it's a the combnation of all that, coupled to a the basic superb aesthetic design, which gives the model the edge.

I'm not sure if it was you, Paul, but someone on this site used the phrase 'kinetic sculpture', and that sums it up nicely.

(Oh, and the wheels are nice too, but a nightmare to clean!)

No that wasn't my comment. Far too much an intelligent analysis for me lol.

Yeh the Tors is a special breed. The black trim and those stripes set it aside. The wheels (Scorpius) look great, but as you say they can be a pain to keep clean.

This beaut was mine :
