Default wiper woes..you know when you start one job and ..

Hi all..having trouble sorting out sluggish and mostly non existent wiper operation..in the process of trying to diagnose source of problem have popped one of the cables off the the drivers side wiper cam..thankfully after feeling its time to hit the whiskey the cable seems to be intact and still looped off the cam..As its the one close to the firewall its proving tricky to pop back on..I will have another go in a while but was wondering if there is a knack to this.I dont want to take the dash out unless i have too. What started off as being an irritation is becoming a little more daunting..Regards..HJ.

The dash blower grille should lift out (it’s probably loose!) and I think I took the glove box assembly out to get access....

Well..after having another try at slipping the cable over the cam i have come to realisation that i might have to undo locking nut and run the cable loop around cam trying to keep the integrity of the loop..there is access to do this..I dont know what else to do?..Hj.

Right..I lossened lock nut on end of rack and removed cable to wrap loop around cam..make sure you get the crossover of the loop the right way ..IE..the end that has the lock nut must be in front (towards yourself) as it returns to the end of rack..I hope that makes some sort of sense..Anyway with a very poor motor its seems to have held...On to the motor itself now..it bugs me that after all i have done today i have not even started original job..Guinness time...HJ.
