Default Gear knob re-attachment

Help!

I was getting a bit ... spirited in my driving yesterday, and during one shift I pulled the stick down into second & my hand kept moving towards the rear of the car, with the gear knob in it.

What's the best way of re-attaching the cables to the O/D switch?

I found this the other day and thought it may be useful as i too have been left with my knob in my hand after a vigorous shifting!

However my car is non OD and the guide doesn't actually say about connecting the wires but hopefully prevent it happening in the future.

Fixed it, found the longest thinnest pliers I had I was able to slot them back on. Barely enough cable to fit it all back together, but it works!

That's lucky. That happened to me once and there wasn't enough cable, and when I pulled on the cable connectors to try to get a bit more the connectors came off.

Some had needed to move the car, and thought you engaged reverse by lifting the gearlever.

And they just PULLED harder and harder until ....

That is so not funny, honest.

Go on, name and shame.
