As Brian says, it's an '89 car which I have converted to look older. There's another feature (on the exterior) which a real early 240 wouldn't have, but I have chosen to retain from the late model base car... clearly visible in the photo above. Any guesses?

I have a good early dashboard to swap in when I get round to it, and an ageless plate.

John
Diary rearranged a little. I will now be attending! Really looking forward to it.

Thank you! We're currently in the process of getting the garage ready to fit her in to begin work!

The BKV was great, so glad we went - was a fantastic day seeing some great people and great cars.

Well the 240 was struggling to start and idling really poorly so we replaced the air filter which was horrifically filthy and changed the spark plugs today.

After a nice run on a lovely sunny day she is running loads better now!

John
The 140 has a proper front suspension: double wish-bones (A-Arms or control arms for those resident to the west of Europe), instead of the MacPherson strut of the 200-series. Unfortunately it also has a steering box instead of a rack and pinion set-up so there would be a fair amount of under-bonnet surgery to do this conversion.

John
Possibility - the very early estates had a rod about half-way along the rear window for the rear seat-belts?
