As others have said, fantastic looking car!!

Sorry, minor thread diversion:

Can't believe I didn't check when this year's BKV was, have been meaning to attend one for years (as a visitor not an entrant I might add!).

I'm currently working down in London for a month - the 240 is safely tucked up back at home in the NW and I only have the daily driver with me down here in the smoke. I guess I could come along and park out of sight

She'll definitely be getting a lot of attention, am really excited about getting stuck in, don't really know much about them at all so going to be a lot to learn as well!

It's a shame we won't be able to take her to the BKV - needed a bit more time really to get her up for a journey like that, but will definitely be there myself on the hunt for inspiration and knowledge!

There's a few 240s currently on this forum which have original-240 front and/rear put on a newer car. This red G-reg estate is a great example - though the giveaways are the numberplate and dashboard. Also there's another current thread with an engine swap into a round-headlighted 240 on a K plate.

It's really interesting and nice to be reminded of the look of the original 240.

Has anyone gone one stage further and made a 140 out of a 240?

What do they usually do about the windscreen cowl, which is different after 1986?

John

Hi there it is nice to see the 240 being used in so many ways, Exciting times right now as allsorts of things means new knowledge and just what is possible.

John H did a cowel swap on his G reg, Go to the "Showroom" section and look for "Projects" and Johns fantastic build is there to amaze you.
Titled "245 Turbo Project" and then be sure to look at "1989 245GLT Project Daily" by Steve and his 244.

Loads more there to wet any apetite that's for certain.

Regards Brian.

As Brian says, it's an '89 car which I have converted to look older. There's another feature (on the exterior) which a real early 240 wouldn't have, but I have chosen to retain from the late model base car... clearly visible in the photo above. Any guesses?

I have a good early dashboard to swap in when I get round to it, and an ageless plate.
