When I went to volvo to check for a replacement caliper they are no longer available, I bought a seal set but at around £40 , you might as well get new calipers or get a company like BIG RED, to properley refurbish them. I too modified a hefty G Clamp but this didn't work either. I notice GSF do them or is there a better supplier. I,m back on mine today local garage said they would give us a hand with a hydraulic rig to pump them out once the calipers are removed. I have my doubts , will post outcome.

More like £120-130 as you should have a pair done.


I do have a pair of not long refurbed calipers coming off my old 240 had about a years use tops.

Exactly.
You can't go bodging brakes on a car that is road driven.
If the pistons are that tight, they are never going to work properly again.
Recon calipers, the only way,Plus regular fluid changes, unless you fancy wasting your time wrestling with something that will never be 100%.
They often sieze when the previous owners have let the pads wear right down, exposing more of the piston.

Default Grease gun

If you can attach a grease gun to the calliper it may be possible to force it out; done this before but not on a Volvo calliper...
