Default Parking brake needs service and sensors need service

Good Day All,

I'm hoping that somebody will be able to assist.
I have a volvo s80 v8 2007 model, recently i received the error of "parking brake needs service" my brakes are not locked or anything, it is still working.
Then suddenly now i also get the following error "park sensors need service" and my park sensors are not working at all.

Does the park brake and park sensors work through fuses?

Any suggestions/comments?

I don't just want to take it to the dealer as they can be really expensive and sometimes it's something small that can be fixed at home.

Your help is much appreciated

Can't help you with the parking brake, but if I remember correctly from my old 2008 S80, if one sensor fails then you get that message (could be wrong as was a while back). I hooked mine up to VIDA at that time and it told me exactly which sensor failed. Replaced it with a Ford equivalent at that time and it solved the issue.

Rear bumper is easy to take off to replace the sensors and check the wiring.

I had the parking brake service required on my 2.4d. It would only come on when I started the car, turned out to be the battery starting to fail. Been fine ever since replacing it. Not sure that would be linked to your parking sensors tho.
