Parking brake needs service and sensors need service
Good Day All,
I'm hoping that somebody will be able to assist. I have a volvo s80 v8 2007 model, recently i received the error of "parking brake needs service" my brakes are not locked or anything, it is still working. Then suddenly now i also get the following error "park sensors need service" and my park sensors are not working at all. Does the park brake and park sensors work through fuses? Any suggestions/comments? I don't just want to take it to the dealer as they can be really expensive and sometimes it's something small that can be fixed at home. Your help is much appreciated |

Can't help you with the parking brake, but if I remember correctly from my old 2008 S80, if one sensor fails then you get that message (could be wrong as was a while back). I hooked mine up to VIDA at that time and it told me exactly which sensor failed. Replaced it with a Ford equivalent at that time and it solved the issue.
Rear bumper is easy to take off to replace the sensors and check the wiring. |

I had the parking brake service required on my 2.4d. It would only come on when I started the car, turned out to be the battery starting to fail. Been fine ever since replacing it. Not sure that would be linked to your parking sensors tho.
