Yup. Why give one group a monopoly?

I have had Hondas for the past fifteen years. Unfortunately, Honda have a very poor range of cars so I was forced to look elsewhere.
I am still a member of Honda Karma but it has deteriorated It was fine until they re-vamped the website. Now it is not easy to navigate and I stopped using it regularly after this.

I was banned for arguing with the forum founder (Ichiban) that Toyota make cars that are just as reliable as Hondas. Rumour is he gets free servicing at Holdcroft...

I agree that the forum shot downhill following the revamp and merger with a zombie Civic forum. However there's been a coup last week - Ichiban has been kicked out and the HK forum has been taken over by former admin staff DeviateDefiant and SpeedyGee (who is a friend of mine). They are planning a lot of changes.

I was also Zebster there, what's your username?

Apologies for the thread diversion!

It was Robbie, but I hadn't been on for a time and couldn't log in. Tried getting in touch with the admin but never got a reply so I joined again as Benjie.

Collected my car today and was unimpressed with the handover. I was a tad late due to traffic on the M6 and in Preston. The sales person was otherwise engaged with a customer -guest as they are called - and I waited over forty minutes before I was attended to. I was offered a coffee.

I was quite annoyed and a gentleman asked if he could help and was I being attended to. He turned out to be the general manager and I poured out my story. He was very apologetic. Eventually, the sales person sat down with me to go through the rigmarole of handover and payment. First of all I had a plethora of forms that required my signature. Having dispensed - I thought - with all of these, we proceeded to the payment. I said that I should 'phone HSBC as they would not authorise such a large payment. No need, she said,it will just go through. Needless to say it was declined. I 'phoned HSBC, and after jumping through a myriad of hoops I was put through to a human. I explained the situation and he said no problem, I'll have to put you through to an expert who understands this. Prolonged wait and someone else came on the line. I had to catch the attention of the sales person as she had flitted off somewhere. Upon her return the transaction took place and my payment was authorised. I then had more documents to sign and the lady went off to tax my car. Upon return I signed a tablet to confirm that I had rejected their various insurance offerings.

There was a further wait and then the general manager approached me to again apologise and said that he had sent an employee to fill up the tank of my car as some recompense. The sales lady reappeared with my car keys etc and came to the car to give me some idea of the bits and pieces. At last I was off after almost two hours. Upon return home I found that she had waltzed off with my handbook, I 'phoned the dealer and was assured it would be sorted.

Hell, I've just sold a car privately and my service is better than that! Granted the car's only £950, but still!

I once used my local (5 miles away) dealer for work on the car a couple of years ago. After that debacle, long story short, I now use an indy that is a 90 mile round trip.

I absolutely agree with this comment; I gave up with them after a disastrous insurance repair and after being lied to about a deal by the salesman.
I now use a dealer in the Scottish Borders, about 60 miles from where I live, and have had nothing but exemplary service from them over the last 24 years.
I am still dealing with the same salesman who I met on my first visit back in 1994 and have even bought cars from him unseen as I have absolute trust in both him and the dealership.

I had to 'phone the dealer to apologise to the sales lady after accusing her of waltzing off with my Volvo handbook. There is a shelf in the glove box which is all but invisible. It is above the open box and not visible when you look from above.

I'm delighted with the car although it will take a bit of getting used to with all of the options on it.
