Default New V70 owner - higher mileage..

My first post here in anticipation of collecting my first Volvo - having had many BMWs , Audi & Mercedes cars in the past 30 years.

The car is a 53 reg V70 D5 Estate with a few miles on it....621k of them to be exact.

Hopefully I haven't made a big mistake, but having driven the car, and checked all the workings of the car the only issue I can see is that the CD player has munched a CD or 4..

Short MOT, but there was only one advisory last time for an anti roll bush and the car has done only 3k since last MOT so fingers crossed. Perhaps it was having a rest last year or two..;-)

Will update on how it goes, and no doubt will be after some help in the coming weeks!

Best, Mark

Thanks BigFella,

It was only small dollars, just hope it doesn't cost big dollars to get thru next MOT!

Will update in due course, collecting it tomorrow morning, and will probably nip it around to my friendly garage / MOT center for a quick heads up.

Wowsers! But you probably need to be in the Phase 2 forum to get advice on a 53 plate.

You're a brave one OP!

With good maintenance regimes in the history(?) you just might be ok. Speaking of history, where the hell has (or hasn't!) it been to get those kind of miles??

We like brave, best of luck

just got back from collecting the car.

Awesome! Wafted down the A34 with cruise control at 75 and it told me it was averaging 54 when I got down the country lanes to home.

There is a slight knock at the front over the bumps, but other than that it drives beautifully. Engine quiet and geartronic smooth.

The car has apparently been in the papers in the past Sunday Times / Telegraph - it belonged to a guy called Simon Marshall who was a private chauffeur.

Car has 3 service books, 46 service stamps and 6 cambelt changes - last at 600k.

Only cost me £695, but as to what it might cost to get thru the MOT in July...;-)

Really impressed tho on initial drive over 50 odd miles. will keep you updated.

Saw that advert in Autotrader - did looked well maintained considering the miles.

May you enjoy it for many more miles....

Interesting to read the telegraph article. Below the photo it says it's the highest mileage Volvo in the world but I don't think that's right. There is a 1966 Volvo in America thats done 3 million miles
