Default 164 front end

Ok folks I'm sure it's been asked a million times but I'll ask again
I've only just seen the 164 and have noticed how similar he back and sides of the car is to the 240 and I like the look of the front end
so has it been done o is it possible to fit the front wings bonnet an nose of the 164 to the 240 . I get that the inner wings would be different shape and clearly some mods would need to be done but could it ?

Google 'volvo 165 240' and select images. Looks like it's been done to 240 estates! I believe 164 front ends have been put on 140 cars but there's an issue with the front of the 164 being a bit longer due to the six cylinder engine.

The 164 panels would need to be shortened approx 50mm behind the front wheels, because the 240 wheelbase is that much shorter than a 164.

Some fabrication on the top of the inner wing would be needed because the top of the 240 wing mounts onto a vertical surface, whereas the 164 wing has a horizontal mounting lip. And don't underestimate the challenge of finding 164 front panels that are good enough to use.

None of this is insurmountable and, as said above, it's been done quite a few times. But it might be easier and better to just buy a 164, and enjoy the smooth B30 straight six as well!
