Thanks, good luck with getting it sorted.
That could well end up to be a very nice car with those couple of issues sorted out. 👍

Hi, I would place bets on the problem with the radio (information control module (icm)).
Many have described this problem and has been resolved by getting the icm repaired, in my case by lucasz at Volvo diagnostics. The issue is usually dry solder joints caused by excessive heat. I had mine sorted for just this problem some 5 years ago and the repair has a lifetime warranty. You can post the icm and will be returned repaired ( with warranty). When mine was sorted it cost £160 but I see now has increased to iro £300. I'm theory you may be able to source a replacement from a breaker or the 'bay' but make sure it is the same. E.g some have phone controls. Risky, but your choice. But I personally reccomment Volvo diagnostics based on my experience. As a new XC90 owner I do suggest a basic Volvo code reader would be a must. I suggest vida is best but besides vida, I have an autel reader which has read and erased boat codes for me. I think these days you can get a reader that uses your mobile for the logic. But whatever you get, ensure it can erase codes such as abs, srs etc. Just my experience and I hope this helps. John l Last edited by john langrick; May 4th, 2023 at 17:30. |

I've sourced a replacement from a breaker, £50 seems worth a punt. Next step would be the service you described, thanks for the recommendation.
Good code reader/ vida/dice is on my list 👍👍 |

Do a search on the various model sections. I think I've seen one advertised within the last few days. 👍

Part numbers, how to do tasks and just generally more ability. etc etc. Definitely worth the extra outlay in my opinion. The BSR PPC Code reader we used on your XC90 yesterday is excellent for keeping in the car and is generally bang on the money with fault codes that it brings up. They do come up for sale on here and ebay now and again. I can also recommend Lucasz at Volvo Diagnostics as he sorted my DEM unit out a few months ago. Terrific service.
