Default C30 T5 Remap, who's left!!

Evening all

I hope you and your families are well?

I have recently purchased a 59 reg C30 T5 and have been looking into getting it remapped.

As both Don from Kalmar Union, and Shark Performace no longer offer a Volvo service, who would people recommend for a remap?

I think the Polestar optimisation is a bit expensive, and reviews of BSR are mixed so anymore suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
James

If you are after a generic stage one, there is plenty of chioce.

But I have been through a few maps and the best one I have found are PSL Performance but they are in Portsmouth. They will do a custom map specific to your car and dyno it.

These are the guys:
https://www.pslperformance.co.uk/

I have had mine done, and I know they have mapped 2 other T5's the other week with great results. If you do go with them, they are quite busy at the moment but if you mention Dom sent you, they might try and squeeze you in somewhere.

***************
Just to add you defenitly do not want a Shark map or any copies of Shark maps being put on your car. Awful maps.

Thanks Dom, really appreciate the reply.

As you say I can get a generic map from Celtic, Quantum etc but wanted to take the car to somebody who knows what they are doing with these engines 🙂

I would defenitly recommend PSL then, I went through all the highly recommended people also including Tim & Shem who did and awful job (All in my project thread in my signiture)

Will at PSL is specialised with the Focus ST / RS and our engines are the same minus the issue with any custom mapping requiring it to be an ECU out job which rules out quite a lot of mappers.

If you get a custom map there it will be tailored to your car along with a backup so you can build on it going forward if you wish. ie if you start going down the modding route, they will just need to do tweaks here and there on your current map rather then getting a complete fresh one everytime.

I've wondered this also, I was down by Celtic HQ in Newquay last week but they couldn't really convince me they knew enough about putting too much torque through the auto box on the D5. I don't know enough about it either... but would have felt comfortable with the Shark or MTE as they seemed to consider this. Its fast enough really so kept it as is for now...

Hey andyv40turbo, yeh I tried speaking to Celtic when I was down in Truro and they just didnt seem to not know much and just provided a generic map.

With the Shark map, obviously Shark in the UK have folded but their maps were not great at all, people still seem to be taking copies of their map and you will find they are all with running issues. One Shark map completly corrupted my ECU but they tend to have a commen throttle flat spot issue in all those maps.

I have no experience of the MTE maps, I have heard that they are good but I cannot remember how much they were again.

With all the mapping I have done on my T5, if you can find someone with experience in custom mapping that can do an ECU on the bench job then I would just go with that. If not the guys that mapped mine at PSL i defenitly recommend ....not only did they provide me with an awesome running map which I can build on, but they were cheaper than everyone else who couldnt even map my car and other generic maps which made it even better.
