Correct plugs for 2.4i engine
I'm going to try a set of plugs to see if that resolves the slightly rough running my car has. Should I be using NGK or Denso plugs?
Not sure what Volvos like. My Saab needed NGK, but it may not so critical in the Volvo. It is a 2004 2435cc engine. Any other details needed, or is this enough to make a recommendation? |

Well, Volvo engines mostly work best on Volvo plugs. Older Fords with Motorcraft. I used NGKs on all my Volvos, as they just worked better...
I'd go with NGK. I'm currently running NGKs (though I have a Duratec Ford Engine).

Fitted set of NGK plugs today, but have only had a chance to fire it up. Will see how it actually drives tomorrow.
Existing plugs were Bosch, so I guess it has had one set since the original Volvo ones it came with. Will look more closely for Volvo ones next time to see how they compare. No idea how I was supposed to actually get the plenum chamber fully out of the way, so had to work round that. Haynes manual wasn't exactly helpful although knowing the correct torque figure for the plugs was useful. |
