have done this in the past and got away with it but the weld can make a mess of the wheel and needs to be a good strong weld the plus side is the heat can help remove a solid bolt but do you have any recovery aa etc if so try them might be able to help i worked for a subcontracters years ago and we were oftern called out to remove wheels must add they were always flat where the nut/bolt was rounded or lost key in them days we had very basic methods main thing we would try was to drill out centre then heat we would use oxy just because we could then use a screw extractor but im sure they now carry special tools made for the job sure have seen them for sale on ebay

volvo might have a key wont be a master but the same as supplied if it is the original locker as for the weld as you know the cleaner the weld the better so ide try to drill or grind as much crome off as possible my main worry is the ally as any splutter will hit the wheel as the nut is a tight fit and dont want my advise to distroy your wheel id try weldind a nut to it if it were mine but then again after my hammer my favourite tool is my bigger hammer ian.

Had a set on my Saab chiseled off after the garage lost the key. Was pleased to see the back of them to be honest and have been toying with the idea of getting rid of the ones on the V50

I didn't have the locking nut when I bought my v50 so just took it to a couple of tyre fitters, got all four off for £20.. It's amazing how easy and fast he got 3 off but the last one was a bit of a pain but still all 4 were off in 30mins..

Or park it up in a dimly lit side street in any of our major cities and some helpful local will probably undo all four for you even quicker

take it to a tyre fitters or take it to volvo i would seriously doubt there would not be spares hanging round.

there is some proper removal kits around i would avoid trying to remove i by to much force yet for fear of damaging the wheel

Just remembered AA can get them off if you tell them you have a flat with no locking wheel nut.., just make sure you have a nut to go back on or they'll change the wheel over and put the locking nut back on
