Default Air Quality System?

Hi All,

How do you know if your XC90 has AQS? The cost of replacement filters is high if the car has this system, not really an issue but I would rather get the right one?

Is it just a case of seeing whats in there or it is always installed on cars with climate control?

TIA,

Cheers
Richard

If your recycled air button has "Man" and "Aut" printed on it, you have AQS.

I think I am correct in say (someone please put me right if I am not) the filters are not that expensive - the usual issue is the AQS sensor failing.

All the AQS does, is to automatically select recirculation air mode. The filters are pretty much the same whether it is fitted or not.

You can get a full service filter kit on the 'bay for about £70, including pollen filter. All genuine parts too

I have no issue with the system, all is working well... but I am going to pull the old filter out this week and I suspect that it will never have been changed as that seems to be pretty much the standard these days.

There are 2 filters listed, one at £15 and one at £40... the only difference being the more expensive one is for cars with AQS, the other isn't so I am assuming it wont work properly.

Not that fussed at the cost, but would rather get the right one first time, and being a tight honorary Yorkshire man I would rather it be the £15 one! ha.

Cheers
Richard

Thats a good shout though... I cant get close to that even with trade... and not genuine parts but bosch and Mann replacements... Will have to get them bought, dont need the air filter and oil filter at the moment but worth having "in stock"...

Mahle make the genuine one and their identical own brand version is about £22. Look out for "K" for karbon in the part number.

Mann make the genuine oil filter which is £6 at Eurocarparts.

£40 for the cabin filter

Think I paid less than £10 for the last one from Euro Car Parts, mine has the (failed) AQS system, was Mahle from memory.
